Army Green Anorak Jacket | Upcycled Distressed Punk Military Jacket

Military surplus meets punk. With a little snakeskin thrown in for bad behaviour.

This one-of-a-kind army green anorak jacket started life as a lightweight vintage military-style jacket before being completely reworked by Agoraphobix.

The original olive green anorak has been ripped, distressed, printed, studded and rebuilt with black and gold snake-scale details, snakeskin panels, bronze hardware and ribcage-inspired tears.

Turn it around and things get even better.

A padded and quilted snakeskin-print back panel is framed by bronze cone studs, while hand-cut ribcage rips expose more snake print beneath the army green shell.

Inside, a flash of black and yellow tie-dye lining finishes the piece.

Part vintage military jacket. Part punk battle jacket. Part post-apocalyptic snake charmer.

🐍 BLACK + GOLD SNAKE DETAILS

This jacket is all about what happens when you start looking closer.

Sections of the original army green fabric have been hand printed with a black and gold snake-scale pattern, giving the worn military shell flashes of metallic texture.

The lower pockets feature distressed snake-print overlays with pyramid studs, while the collar is trimmed in snakeskin print.

Then there's the back.

A snakeskin-print panel has been padded and quilted to give it structure before being finished with bronze cone studs.

Below it, ribcage-inspired tears have been cut into the jacket with more snake print exposed underneath.

⚡ FIVE POCKETS + HARDWARE

Because looking dangerous shouldn't mean losing somewhere to put your phone.

The jacket has five pockets:

✖ Two upper front pockets with pyramid stud details
✖ Two lower pockets with distressed snake-print overlays and pyramid studs
✖ One sleeve pocket distressed with the Agoraphobix X crossbones detail

The original zipper and button closure remains functional, and the drawstring waist can be pulled in to change the silhouette.

☠️ DISTRESSED BY HAND

This isn't factory-made “distressed” clothing with identical holes stamped into every jacket.

The original vintage anorak has been individually ripped, torn, printed, studded and reconstructed by hand.

The distressed areas are deliberately irregular, giving the army-green fabric a weathered, lived-in finish that works beautifully with the military construction.

It looks like it's already survived something.

Exactly what that was is probably better left unanswered.

🖤 HOW TO STYLE IT

For a punk streetwear look, throw it over a vintage band tee with ripped black jeans, heavy boots and layers of silver jewellery.

Take it grunge with distressed fishnets, shorts and an oversized tee.

For a darker post-apocalyptic outfit, go almost entirely black underneath and let the army green, bronze hardware and snakeskin become the focus.

Or play into the military shape with black cargo pants, combat boots and a battered tee.

It also works surprisingly well thrown over something feminine — a vintage black slip dress, ripped tights and big boots give the structured military jacket something to fight against.

♻️ UPCYCLED + ONE OF A KIND

This jacket wasn't manufactured from new fabric to look vintage.

It started as an existing vintage lightweight army-style anorak, chosen for its original shape, details and character.

I then used that garment as the foundation for an entirely new piece — printing, distressing, quilting, studding and rebuilding it by hand.

That's what I love about upcycling.

The original garment gets to keep its history.

It just comes back considerably stranger.

This is a ONE PIECE creation. Once it's gone, this exact jacket is gone.

Adjustable drawstring waist allows the jacket to be pulled in for a more fitted silhouette.

Measurements:

Chest: 38" / 95 cm
Waist: 36" / 90 cm — adjustable smaller with drawstring
Shoulder to shoulder: 17" / 42 cm
Length: 26" / 65 cm
Sleeve length: 24" / 60 cm

Model is 5'9" / 175 cm, normally wears a women's size S and is wearing the actual size S jacket shown in the photographs.

Hand wash cold with similar colours.

Because this is a heavily reworked one-of-a-kind garment with quilting, printing, studs and distressed details, treat it with a little more care than an ordinary jacket.
